9:40 p.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Rebecca Cornish, 22, of Renfrew and Sarah Styen, 24, of Butler collided at Whitestown and South Duffy roads. No one was injured.
[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock University Police[/naviga:h3]
4:28 p.m. Jan. 23 — A Slippery Rock University student was allegedly caught with suspected marijuana and a bottle of rum in his dorm room at Building E. Police said they were called there for an odor of marijuana.
Devin R. Williams, 19, of McDonald is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and possession of alcohol by a minor.

1:25 a.m. Thursday — Tyler J. Coast, 33, of Harrisville was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after he was found passed out in the driver’s seat of his pickup truck with the engine running on South Broad Street.

9:22 a.m. Wednesday — No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash in Clay Township. The driver, who police did not identify, lost control of the sport utility vehicle on Route 308 and slid into a ditch. The vehicle had to be towed. The driver was cited for traveling too fast for conditions.
3:46 p.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Conner E. Sevin, 18, of Grove City turned into the path of an SUV at Route 8 and Route 173 in Brady Township. No one was injured in the two- vehicle collision.
Police cited Sevin for a stop sign violation. Amber D. Malanosky, 40, of Grove City was the other driver.
2:59 a.m. Monday — John A. Darryn, 20, of Butler lost control of his car and struck a utility pole along Route 68 in Oakland Township. He was not injured but his car had to be towed.
Feb. 5 — David G. Pringle, 44, of New Castle was charged with drugged driving stemming from a November traffic stop on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township.
Police said they stopped Pringle about 5 p.m. Nov. 6 after spotting his truck-trailer combination with an orange cloth over a hydraulic boom. A trooper got to the vehicle and noticed the trailer inspection was expired.
Later, he found the truck’s inspection, too, was expired.
The smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle also caught the attention of police, according to court documents. He subsequently turned over a marijuana pipe and admitted smoking the drug earlier that day.
Police said Pringle showed impairment during field sobriety tests and he was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results confirmed he had marijuana in his system, documents said.
He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and four traffic offenses.
Feb. 5 — An Indiana County man is charged with drugged driving after a one-vehicle October crash in Muddy Creek Township. Shawn M. Scott, 23, of Shelocta lost control of his vehicle and hit an embankment after his left front wheel came off.
Scott failed field sobriety testing, according to court documents, and police took him to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results showed he had marijuana in his system.
He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Feb. 5 — Scott P. Parish, 43, of Forestville was charged with having drug contraband in connection with his arrest last year for violating another person’s protective order. The arrest happened June 17, 2018, at a home on Shields Road in Mercer Township.
Police said they caught Parish with a used syringe and metal spoon. He also had four suspected drug stamp bags, which were apparently empty, in his sock, according to court documents. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
