ADAMS TWP — Supervisors Monday reaffirmed the Hickory Glen plan after township officials investigated a resident's complaint about it last month.

Rob Crouthamel brought up concerns in January that a structure on the property had fallen into disrepair, with doors left open that could be accessed by criminals.

Township manager Gary Peaco said he reached out to the developer and found that while the owner of the house had left it, the developer was hoping to continue work on the property once given reapproval by the township.

The structure in question had also been used by the police for a recent training exercises, Peaco said.

The developer did confirm that a door had been inadvertently left open but had since secured it.

The developers are awaiting approval to begin work, Peaco said.

Supervisors also scheduled a hearing for a new ordinance to tighten restrictions on development activity on slopes.

Currently, developers are allowed to develop grades steeper than 15 percent provided they first get approval from the township engineer.

Under the proposed draft, they would instead file a special request with the board of supervisors for grades exceeding 15 percent.

Included in the request, developers must include a geotechnical study and a chart of all slopes to be disturbed.

Solicitor Michael Gallagher said the draft ordinance could easily change through the hearing and adoption process.

The first hearing will be 6 p.m. March 27.
