Two people were reportedly flown to hospitals with injuries they sustained Thursday just before 8:30 p.m. in a two-vehicle crash on Route 422 west at New Castle Road in Butler Township.

According to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch reports, emergency responders found one vehicle in a ditch and reported a female with an arm injury and a male trapped in one of the vehicles. One person was extracted.

Two medical helicopters responded and transported patients to Pittsburgh hospitals.

The Butler Township Volunteer Fire District, VA Butler Healthcare Fire Department and medical helicopters LifeFlight and Stat MedEvac responded to the crash.
