Bacome, 40, of Renfrew was arrested for driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash at Renfrew Road and Route 8.Police said they suspected Bacome was so intoxicated, according to court documents, that they did not ask her to perform field sobriety tests for fear she would fall and injure herself.She was taken to the Butler police station for a breath test that indicated her blood-alcohol level was 0.289 percent, or more than three-and-a-half times the state’s legal limit for alcohol.In addition to DUI, Bacome is charged with reckless driving.[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]Jan. 28 — Kent R. Mackrell, 48, of Donegal Township was arraigned on charges that he illegally attempted buy a gun last year at a Chicora store.Mackrell is accused of giving false background information on required paperwork Nov. 18 when he tried to buy an unspecified gun at Chicora Sporting Goods.He is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.Jan. 28 — Police charged a central New York man with driving on drugs, stemming from a December stop on Route 8 in Penn Township. Police said they pulled him over around 1:30 a.m. Dec. 16 for improperly using high beams.The defendant, Jonathan M. Fewer, 23, of Sherrill, admitted that he smoked marijuana about three hours earlier, according to court documents. Police noted the vape pen he used was in the center console.Fewer was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test that confirmed he had marijuana in his system.He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, failing to keep right, careless driving and not using low beams.12:25 a.m. Jan. 26 — Steve E. Northime, 55, of Chicora was arrested for driving under the influence after police allegedly saw his pickup truck cross the fog line and center line on Fairmont Road in Fairview Township.Northime failed field sobriety tests, according to court documents, but he refused to take a breath test at the barracks.He is charged with DUI, driving without insurance, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and failing to use hazard lights when required.[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]10:52 p.m. Wednesday — Joseph R. Belschner, 61, of Boyers was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle crashed into a ditch on Old Ash Road in Springfield Township. Charges are pending.
