Cochran expands local presence
CONNOQUENESSING TWP — #1 Cochran of Butler County moved Monday to its new home at 861 Evans City Road.
Rob Cochran, president and CEO of #1 Cochran, said the dealer has continued to increase popularity since it arrived four years ago. He said the dealer needed more room to grow than its previous location on New Castle Road in Butler Township could offer.
“We're really excited about enlarging and having a completely state-of-the-art retail automotive facility,” Cochran said. “We're excited to open the new facility because we have a bustling group of customers.”
Cochran said selling Subarus in Butler County was the perfect match.
“The way (Subaru) conducts their business connects with the demographics of that area,” he said. “It's been a phenomenal success, where we quickly outran the capacity of the former site.”
Cochran said the dealer's success also could be attributed to the team, which treats its customers well.
“It's been managed so well that it doesn't really require a lot of executive oversight,” Cochran said. “We've got a really good team there from Mike (Rizzitano) on down. The service, the technical and the sales team, we're really proud of them.”
Rizzitano said the new building has been a hit for customers and employees alike.
“It took about 1 1/2 years to build,” he said. “They were happy to see it. It was much anticipated.”
Rizzitano said even he was surprised by the technology used in the building. He said employees can be proud to work in the building, which includes a number of environmentally-friendly features.
“All our lights are solar-powered LED lights,” he said.Rizzitano said the site also has its own recycling plant for sewage because there isn't public sewage available to tap into.“We have all sorts of green stuff,” Rizzitano said.Rizzitano said the building also sends an important message as the old building and lot appeared to many to be cramped and too small for the growing business. He said it wasn't a place where people could see Cochran's future.“Our previous home was absolutely temporary,” Rizzitano said. “We took some serious time to figure out where we could put our permanent roots in the community with progress and room to grow to let people know we're here to stay.”Cochran said Subaru shares his company's emphasis for community awareness and support. He said it's a priority anywhere he has a dealership.“We love the area up there, and we love the community up there,” Cochran said. “We want to make that a better area for people to live and buy cars in.”
