Feb. 1 — Thomas E. Saeler, 44, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a September traffic stop for speeding in Butler.

Police said they stopped Saeler about 11:45 a.m. Sept. 5 after they clocked him going 55 mph in a 35 mph zone on East Jefferson Street. He subsequently failed sobriety tests, according to court documents.

Saeler was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test that showed he had marijuana and clonazepam in his system.

He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, speeding, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.

Jan. 28 — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Crystal R. Pakutz, 26, of Butler in connection with an alleged illegal attempt to buy a gun in August at a Summit Township store.

Pakutz is accused of giving false background information on required paperwork Aug. 10 when she tried to buy an unspecified gun at Sportsman’s Supply Co.

She is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.

Jan. 28 — Joshua R. Gaiser, 26, of Clearfield Township was charged with being more than three times the state’s legal limit for alcohol stemming from a December crash in Clearfield Township.

Police said Gaiser was driving too fast for conditions about 10:45 p.m. Dec. 24 when he wrecked on Geibel Road near Shuler Road. He admitted to having “shots and beer” less than an hour before the crash, according to documents.

Gaiser was injured in the wreck, and a medical helicopter flew him to UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. Police later got a search warrant for his medical records.

Toxicology results from a blood draw showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.25 percent, documents said. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

He is charged with DUI, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, failing in keep right, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.

Jan. 28 — Police charged a Beaver County man with threatening the life of a Slippery Rock Township man in December.

The defendant, Troy L. Moon, 20, of New Brighton, allegedly went to the victim’s home on Stillwater Lane about 3:45 p.m. Dec. 12 and threatened “to shoot, kill and beat him up,” according to court documents.

A motive for the incident was not clear in the criminal complaint.

Moon is charged with terroristic threats and harassment.

Jan. 28 — Joseph C. Boyce, 55, of Center Township was charged with DUI after a traffic stop earlier in the month in Center Township. He was pulled over about 1:15 a.m. Jan. 19 for crossing over the fog line and center line on Route 8 near Beacon Lane.

Police said field sobriety testing indicated impairment and a breath test showed his blood alcohol level was 0.126 percent.

In addition to DUI, Boyce is charged with driving on the wrong side of the road and disregarding traffic lanes.

Jan. 28 — Tera L. Callihan, 33, of Chicora was charged in connection with a November shoplifting incident in Donegal Township. She allegedly swiped packages of blankets and curtains Nov. 13 from the Dollar General store on Route 68.

Callihan, who has one prior shoplifting conviction, is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.

Jan. 23 — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Shyannel M. Getty, 27, of Muddy Creek Township in connection with an alleged burglary last year at a restaurant in Franklin Township.

Getty was employed at Michael’s Restaurant on Route 422 on May 11 when she is accused of breaking in, according to court documents. Police said she took $575 from a cash register and left.

She is charged with four felonies: burglary, trespass, theft and receiving stolen property.
