9:08 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Mackenzie Crevar-Kuntz, 17, of Butler struck an embankment on McCalmont Road. Neither the teenager nor her 12-year-old passenger was injured. A police report noted that the road was icy at the time of the accident.

11:26 a.m. Saturday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on New Castle Road.

The wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by John Zanicky, 61, of Butler struck a vehicle driven by John Lewis, 59, of Butler. The collision forced Lewis’ vehicle into a vehicle driven by Greta Grossman, 40, of Grove City.

Zanicky’s vehicle was the only one towed. He was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

6:10 p.m. Friday — Dakota M. Sloan, 24, of Butler was found with suspected heroin following a traffic stop on Hansen Avenue. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Police also cited him for driving with a suspended license, driving a vehicle without valid inspection, and a headlight violation.

Sloan’s passenger, Crystal L. Singer, 34, of East Brady, Clarion County, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 31 — More than two months after a Butler teenager accidentally shot himself with a handgun at his Arlington Avenue home, police charged him in the incident.

Authorities said 18-year-old Adrian Q. Nicelli was treated at a Pittsburgh hospital for a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg that occurred around 9:35 p.m. Nov. 14 in the township’s Highfield section.

Police said an investigation later determined that the gun used in the shooting was stolen. Additionally, they noted that at the hospital, he was in possession of six stamp bags of suspected heroin and a baggie of suspected crack cocaine.

Nicelli is charged with a felony count of receiving stolen property and a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.

[naviga:h3]Butler Police[/naviga:h3]

1:30 p.m. Monday — A woman in what police described as a “wheelchair” was injured when a vehicle struck her at Main and Jefferson streets. The injuries were not believed to be serious.

A police report was not completed and details about what happened were not immediately available.

A Butler Ambulance Service crew tended to the woman, who complained of arm and leg pain. Upon her request, authorities said, she was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.

[naviga:h3]Butler County Drug Task Force[/naviga:h3]

Monday — Mandi L. Gipson, 32, of Butler Township was arrested on charges that she sold a heroin capsule to a police informant Oct. 17 on North Cedar Street in Butler.

Gipson was arraigned on felony counts of delivery and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.
