Bottled up at Brady

January’s freezing temperatures caused the Allegheny River at East Brady to heave up piles of ice. A member of the East Brady Volunteer Fire Department said Sunday night that the ice is not posing any danger to structures, bridges or the community. He said the sustained cold temperatures caused the river to stop and jam up, and the warming trend on the weekend did not free it.
