[naviga:h3]SV grad Sprentz hits 2,000 assists[/naviga:h3]

ERIE — Seneca Valley graduate Anthony Sprentz, a senior on the Penn State Behrend men’s volleyball team, recorded his 2,000th career assist during the Lions’ two victories Saturday.

Sprentz had 32 total assists in wins over St. Joseph and Cairn.

Butler graduate and Behrend freshman Cody Schnur had eight kills against St. Joseph while SV graduate Tyler Herrmann had 15 digs against Cairn.

PITTSBURGH — Butler graduate Doug Kostelansky, a freshman on the Point Park University track and field team, ran a leg of the Pioneers’ winning 4x800 meter relay at the SPIRE Midwest Open Saturday.

Point Park’s relay team posted a time of seven minutes, 50.50 seconds. That is the top time in NAIA so far this indoor season.

[naviga:h3]KC grad Hegedus shines for Clarion[/naviga:h3]

CLARION — Karns City graduate Emily Hegedus, a freshman on the Clarion University women’s basketball team, scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds in Saturday’s 73-51 loss to top-ranked Indiana (Pa.).

Hegedus played 37 minutes in the contest.
