B’NAI ABRAHAM

B’nai Abraham, 519 N. Main St., Congregation B’nai Abraham brings Mark Lepore to Butler for a talk, “Resiliency in the Wake of Crisis,” at 7 p.m. Sunday. All are welcome to attend, and there is no charge. Parking is located in the back and along the alleyway. Do not park in the Armstrong lot.

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have Pastor Millie providing the special music Sunday.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will have a soup and salad potluck dinner at noon Sunday. Place settings are provided.

Contemporary worship planning is at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The newsletter will be mailed Wednesday.

The men’s fellowship group will meet 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, and the Quilters will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

CONCORD PRESBYTERIAN & NORTH WASHINGTON PRESBYTERIAN

Concord Presbyterian Church, 625 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, will have 9:45 a.m. Sunday school and an 11 a.m. worship service followed by the annual congregational meeting to review year-end reports.

Just4Kids meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 1 for children in preschool through sixth grade.

The Concord adult Sunday school class will have a progressive dinner starting at 4 p.m. Feb. 9. For more information, contact class members.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., has the Souper Bowl soup luncheon in the Assembly Room immediately after the Sunday worship service. An offering will be received to benefit the Covenant community dinners.

The People for Peace study group meets at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Assembly Room.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., will have a 9:30 a.m. Sunday school and a 10:30 a.m. worship service led by Elder Ron McKissick.

Beth Yost will be the pianist.

The AA group meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

WW meets at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. Jan. 31 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 2.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Women’s Missionary Fellowship of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., meets from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church.

First Baptist Christian School homecoming basketball games will begin at 5 p.m. Friday at St. Fidelis.

The First Baptist Homecoming Dinner/Winter Gala will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the youth center.

Sunday’s service schedule begins at 9:45 a.m. with Sunday school classes followed by an 11 a.m. worship service. There will also be a Gideon presentation at the 6 p.m. Sunday worship service.

The Deaf Café will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Baptist Youth Center. Take a lunch. There will be fellowship, a devotional and a guest speaker.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., has 9:15 a.m. Sunday school followed by a 10 a.m. worship service.

After the service, members are encouraged to attend the annual congregation meeting. It will include budget approval, council member vote and mission discussion.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace’s Closet at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., a free clothing bank is open to the public from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. No proof of income is required. Each family may fill one large bag.

A fourth Sunday gathering called “Inquiring Minds” meets from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the room across from Grace’s Closet for discussion.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Linda Grigor and the Horstmans will provide the music at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The annual congregational meeting for Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will be Feb. 3 following the Sunday worship service with a potluck soup luncheon after the meeting.

INTERSECTION CHURCH

Intersection Church, 120 Walker Ave., begins a Tuesday women’s Bible study from 6:45 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5 at Lorrie Kison’s home. Contact the church office if interested.

The annual congregational meeting is rescheduled for Sunday after the worship service.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Mars UP transition team of Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the church office.

The ATeam will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday to maintain the needs of the church building. New members are welcome any Tuesday morning.

Bible study will continue at 7 p.m. Wednesday and at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 31.

NIXON U.M.

Nixon United Methodist Church, 334 Airport Road, has rescheduled the preschool’s meatloaf luncheon for Sunday immediately following the 11 a.m. worship service. Meals are dine-in or takeout.

Other Sunday worship services are a traditional 8:30 a.m. service and a 7 p.m. modern service.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

The youth group of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will meet from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Feb. 3 with the youths of Crestview and Plains churches at Crestview Church.

NORTH WASHINGTON PRESBYTERIAN

North Washington Presbyterian Church, 714 Fairview Road, North Washington, will have a 9:30 a.m. Sunday school session followed by an annual congregational meeting to review year-end reports and then 10:45 a.m. Sunday school.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, celebrates Holy Communion Sunday.

During the service the church will install the 2019 officers for the church council and the cemetery association.

Sign the registration sheet for the annual congregation meeting and catered dinner scheduled for Feb. 3.

The church will also celebrate Souper Bowl Sunday, with a Souper Bowl collection that will go to the Evans City Food Cupboard.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, has only one 10 a.m. worship service with 9 a.m. Sunday school. The annual congregation meeting will be after the 10 a.m. service.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, welcomes Matt and Michelle McKinley to the pulpit Sunday.
