Joel Stutz pours in 50 for BC3
It was quite a day for Joel Stutz.
The Butler High School graduate became just the fourth player in Butler County Community College men’s basketball history to score 50 or more points in a game with 50 in an 88-68 win Saturday over CCAC Boyce.
Stutz also reached 1,000 career points in the victory.
He’s only the fourth player in BC3 history to accomplish that feat, too.
“Stutty shot the lights out of the ball,” said Pioneer coach Dick Hartung. “And his teammate were instrumental at getting him the ball.”
Stutz also had 15 rebounds.
Stutz joins Hal Koenmund, Darrien Calihan and Nathan McCoy as BC3 players with 50 or more points in a single game.
Koenmund scored 57, Calihan 54 and McCoy 53.
And now Stutz joins that select group.
Andrew Yonker scored 17 points and Josh Knochel 11 for BC3.
Jace Stutz added 10 assists for the Pioneers (5-9, 2-0).
