Penn Township police have identified the drivers who were injured in a head-on collision Friday afternoon on Dinnerbell Road.

Wayne Blank, 60, of Butler, who was driving east, was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following the accident and Tracy Taylor, 47, of Butler, who was traveling west, was flown to Allegheny General Hospital.

A 10-year-old boy who was a passenger in Taylor's vehicle was taken by ambulance to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Taylor suffered leg injuries. Her condition and the conditions of the others were not available.

Police said neither drugs, nor alcohol nor speed are believed to be factors in the collision.

Firefighters said it took nearly a half-hour to remove Taylor from the car she was driving due to the extent of the damage to the vehicle. Both lanes of traffic were closed for more than an hour as emergency personnel cleared the scene.

The collision took place at 3:51 p.m. just east of Rockdale Road.

A woman, who lives on Dinnerbell Road near that intersection, provided video footage of the wreck to police. She has a security camera on her front porch facing out toward the road. The video appeared to show the eastbound vehicle, driven by the man, crossing fully into the oncoming lane and colliding with the other car.

The Penn Township and Saxonburg volunteer fire departments, Butler Ambulance Service, STAT Med-Evac and township police responded to the accident.
