The U.S. Postal Service announced that it would pause regular mail delivery on Wednesday for the National Day of Mourning for President George H.W. Bush.

The Postal Service noted that, in the midst of the holiday season, some package deliveries and services will continue in a limited way.

“We will provide limited package delivery service on that day to ensure that our network remains fluid and we do not experience any impacts to our package delivery operations that might negatively affect our customers or business partners during the remainder of our busy holiday season,” the Postal Service said in a statement.

Bush died on Friday at age 94, less than a year after his wife of 73 years, Barbara, died at their Houston home. While Bush only served one term as president, he left a legacy of public service as a congressman, an ambassador to the United Nations and envoy to China, chairman of the Republican National Committee, director of the CIA, two-term vice president with President Ronald Reagan, and finally president.
