Man accidentally shoots himself in mall restroom
Butler Ambulance Service responds to a report of an accidental shooting Wednesday night at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.
CENTER TWP — A New Castle man suffered non-life threatening injuries after state police said he accidentally shot himself in a Clearview Mall restroom Wednesday.
The 63-year-old, whom police did not identify, entered a restroom near JCPenney carrying a small caliber handgun at 5:15 p.m., police said.
The gun fell and it fired when he tried to catch it, police said.
He was treated for non-life threatening injuries by Butler Ambulance Service personnel, and no one else was injured in the mishap, police said.
The man was licensed to carry a concealed firearm, police added.
A man with what appeared to be a bandaged foot was seen being wheeled out of the mall on a stretcher to an ambulance.
