Bishop to visit Cranberry church, answer questions

CRANBERRY TWP — Catholics who want answers from their religious leaders may find them at St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church Thursday.

Bishop David Zubik is holding one of four “listening sessions” at 7 p.m. at the church, 2535 Rochester Road.

The first such session happened last week at St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh. Various Pittsburgh media reported that several people were able to directly question Zubik.

The Rev. Joseph Feltz, 65, who was recently placed on administrative leave by the Pittsburgh Diocese, brought the number of priests with Butler County ties who have sexual abuse accusations against them to 19. That figure includes priests both living and dead.

Eighteen of those priests’ accusations were detailed in a wide-reaching grand jury report in August. The report detailed accusations of sexual assault and rape against Catholic clergyman in Pennsylvania.
