5:42 p.m. Nov. 27 — Mirana Luu, 22, of Volant lost control of her car on a snow- and ice-covered road while going west on Route 108. She struck a couple of mailboxes and then a tree. Police suspect she suffered minor injuries, but she did not receive medical attention.

12:22 a.m. Nov. 22 — Alvin Dean, 58, of Pittsburgh was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence at a DUI checkpoint on Route 28 north at exit 17 in Buffalo Township.

Police said they smelled marijuana smoke from the vehicle and Dean admitted to smoking the drug “a couple hours” earlier, according to court documents.

Field sobriety tests indicated impairment, police said, and he was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County, for a blood test. Toxicology results were being completed, police said.

Dean was arraigned on charges of DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, driving a vehicle without a valid inspection, careless driving and reckless driving. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail following arraignment.

Nov. 14 — Shaun Krill, 39, of Oakland Township was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving. Police said they observed Krill in an SUV crossing a double yellow line on Route 68 by Gameland Road. After being pulled him over, he allegedly told police he had been drinking and failed a field sobriety test.

11:24 a.m. Nov. 28 — A 17-year-old was charged with aggravated assault and arrested by juvenile probation after a report that he attacked a teacher at the Center Avenue School. The attack left the teacher with minor injuries.

12:24 p.m. Nov. 27 — Ashur Jasmine, 18, of Sarver was charged with reckless driving and passing in a no-passing zone. Jasmine was trying to overtake a vehicle near an intersection between Litman Road and Old Plank Road, but the car in front of Jasmine was making a left turn. Jasmine struck the turning car and Jasmine’s Suzuki drove off the road in the collision, struck a tree and rolled over off an embankment. Jasmine had some minor injuries and the driver of the other car was not injured.

Nov. 15 — Police charged Michael D. Wilson, 33, of Kittanning in connection with last month’s alleged theft of property from a job site on the 300 block of Three Degree Road.

On Oct. 16, Wilson is accused of taking a 28-foot extension ladder and a metal brake that belonged to Claire Boring, according to court documents.

The defendant is charged with three first-degree misdemeanor counts each of theft and receiving stolen property.
