A Pittsburgh man was sentenced Wednesday to more than seven years in prison for robbing six banks, including one in Cranberry Township in January 2016.

Gregory Magee, 50, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer to seven years and three months in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release for the six bank heists.

The court was advised that Magee carried out the six robberies between January and November 2016 when he entered a guilty plea in an unrelated case in July 2018, according to U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady.

During the afternoon of Jan. 20, 2016, Magee entered First Niagara Bank at 20111 Route 19, Cranberry Township, wearing a hooded sweat shirt, cap, sunglasses, gloves and scarf covering his face, Brady said.

Magee brandished a black handgun and demanded money from several tellers, who gave him $5,526, Brady said.

In addition to that robbery, Magee robbed the First Merit Bank in New Castle, Lawrence County, on Feb. 29; the First Niagra Bank in McMurray, Washington County, on March 31; the First Commonwealth Bank on Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh on June 8; the Citizens Bank in Beaver Falls, Beaver County, on Aug. 11; and the S & T Bank in Monroeville on Nov. 8, Brady said.
