CABOT UNITED METHODIST

Cabot United Methodist Church, 707 Winfield Road, Cabot, will begin its Upward Program for basketball and cheerleaders for the 2019 season in January.

There are two evaluation dates planned: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 11. Practices will begin the week of Jan. 7, and games will begin Jan. 26.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., will have 9:30 a.m. Sunday school followed by a 10:30 a.m. worship service led by Elder Ron McKissick. Patty Marburger will be the guest pianist.

After the service, the deacons and other members of the congregation will decorate the sanctuary for Christmas.

The AA group will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Weight Watchers meet at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. Nov. 29 and 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Women’s Missionary Fellowship of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will sponsor a gingerbread house construction event at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. If interested, call the church at 724-287-7241.

Sunday’s service begins at 9:45 a.m. with Sunday school classes and an 11 a.m. worship service. There will be a 6 p.m. worship service.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., because of the power outage problems in Butler County, will include the Stewardship Commitment pledges of time, abilities and resources and the Blessing of the Prayer Shawls and Scarves at Sunday’s worship service.

The church office will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

The annual Christmas Tree Drive will begin Sunday and end Dec. 16. Monetary donations will help enrich the lives of Butler County children and youths.

There is a sign-up sheet in the Social Room for poinsettias for Christmas.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

The church office at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will be closed Thursday for Thanksgiving.

Grace’s Closet, the free clothing bank provided by Grace @ Calvary, will be closed Saturday because of the holiday weekend. It will reopen Dec. 8.

RSVPs for the Dec. 2 Annual Advent Luncheon are due at the church office by Sunday. Reservations are not mandatory, but are helpful in the committee’s planning.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Rev. Leigh Benish will deliver the Sunday sermon at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

Orders for poinsettias to decorate the chancel are due Dec. 2.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Orchard Hill Butler County worships at 107 Staley Ave.

Celebrate a season of thanks with Orchard Hill Butler County from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. It will be an opportunity to praise and thank God for the past year and prepare for the Christmas and Advent season. Sunday morning services are at 10:30 a.m.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will celebrate the “Hanging of the Greens” after Sunday worship and then share a light lunch.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, needs volunteers to help with the Christmas float at 3 p.m. Friday for the 7 p.m. parade in Saxonburg.

Christmas poinsettia orders are due Sunday, and the Glade Run Christmas Tree for special children will be available.

The Sewing Ministry meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, and community quiet time and prayer is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the sanctuary.

The new church and community prayer group meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Youth Room.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

The deacons of Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, invite the congregation to stay after Sunday worship to help decorate the church for the Christmas season. A soup and sandwich lunch will be provided.
