300 residents still without power
Power outages persist into Wednesday across the county, according to online information, after a wintry storm last week left more than 45,000 people without power.
More than 300 customers with Central Electric Cooperative and West Penn Power still do not have access to electricity. The majority of those customers are with Central.
Power outages began on Nov. 15 when a freezing rainstorm hit the area, according to meteorologists.
And on Monday night, Central Electric Cooperative had reported 1,780 powerless customers, while an estimated 2,659 West Penn Power customers were still affected.
