[naviga:h3]Butler grad Spithaler gets PSAC honors[/naviga:h3]

EDINBORO — Butler graduate Brittnie Spithaler, a freshman forward for Edinboro University, has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week.

Spithaler scored three total goals in wins of 4-1 over Indiana and 3-2 over Mansfield. She scored the game-winning goal in both games.

Spithaler is second on the Fighting Scots in goals and points.

[naviga:h3]SRU QB Rivers top offensive athlete[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University quarterback Roland Rivers has been named PSAC West Offensive Player of the Week.

Rivers accounted for 485 total yards and six touchdowns in SRU’s 59-28 win over Edinboro. He threw for 403 yards and five TDs, ran for 82 yards and one score.
