Thursday — Police said Frederick A. Rosengren, 72, of Butler was charged for bad checks after allegedly writing a $45.17 check at Giant Eagle in Moraine Pointe Plaza that was returned for insufficient funds.
Thursday — Police said Paul G. Haughey, 55, of Butler was charged for bad checks after allegedly writing a $62.03 check at Giant Eagle in Moraine Pointe Plaza that was returned for insufficient funds.
5:22 p.m. Aug. 25 — Police said Sanya Vantassel, 41, of Butler was charged with receiving stolen property and false identification to law enforcement after allegedly attempting to return stolen merchandise to the store and then giving officers fake information on her identity.

9:50 p.m. Wednesday — Police said a Slippery Rock woman suffered suspected minor injuries after a three-vehicle crash near the 93.6 mile marker of Interstate 79.
Police said Nathan Lee, 23, of Dubois was driving north on the road and following a Ford Explorer driven by Pamela Kelly, 50, of Slippery Rock too closely when his Freightliner MT45 hit the Explorer and put it into a spin. Kelly’s vehicle then hit a Buick Encore driven by Michele M. Lagnese, 47, of Slippery Rock and Lee’s tractor-trailer hit a Jeep Liberty driven by Cody A. Andrews, 24, of Meadville, according to police.
Police said Kelly refused treatment for suspected minor injuries and no one else was hurt; Lee was cited for following too closely.
