PITTSBURGH — Butler graduate Gage Terwilliger carded an 85 for medalist honors as the Butler County Community College golf team scored a 362 in winning at Pittsburgh National Golf Club recently.

Luke Ostermeyer had an 88 for BC3 while Tyler Johnson carded 91 and Kyle Mudger 98.

The Pioneers play Tuesday at Lake Arthur.

GREENVILLE — Freeport graduate Courtney Grubbs, a freshman setter for the Thiel College women’s volleyball team, has been named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week.

Grubbs had 144 assists last week to go with 50 digs, nine blocks, seven kills and five service aces. Her 53 assists in a five-set win over La Roche last week are the most in one match in the league this season.

PITTSBURGH — Karns City graduate Rebecca Pennington, a freshman on the Chatham women’s cross country team, has been named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Women’s Runner of the Week again.

Pennington won the six-kilometer Waynesburg Invitational last weekend, topping the 119-runner course in 20 minutes, 52.52 seconds.
