A birdwatching cruise on Lake Arthur will begin at 8 a.m. Sept. 18.
The 90-minute tour on the Nautical Nature will be led by Gene Wilhelm of the Audubon Society.

The Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., is hosting the following events:
- 6:30 p.m. Thursday — Adult Anime club will discuss Japanese animation films and works of Japanese graphic novels and illustration (aka manga);
- 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday — Afterschool Book Club for fourth- through sixth-graders. The club will meet every two weeks;
- 5:45 p.m. Sept. 20 — German Conversation Hour. Brush up on your German.
[naviga:h3]Author discusses Frank Preston[/naviga:h3]
BUTLER TWP — Polly Shaw, a Butler Township native, retired educator and author of “Images of Modern America Moraine State Park” by Arcadia Publishing, will present a program on Frank Preston at 6 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Butler Township Recreation Building, 468 S. Duffy Road.
The two-hour presentation includes historical photos and information about Preston’s personal history from England to Butler, as well as historical photos of Preston Laboratories. Today his land is known as Preston Park at 415 S. Eberhart Road and is operated by Butler Township.
