Vernon C. Borchert
Vernon C. Borchert, 75, of Gibsonia, passed away Saturday.
Born in Lackawanna, N.Y., on Oct. 17, 1942, and raised in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Nelson and Clara Patzke Borchert.
Beloved husband for 51 years of Lorrie Keane Borchert. Loving father of Philip (Claire) Borchert and Daniel (Heather) Borchert. Proud grandfather of Jeremy, Isaiah, Samuel and Anna.
Vern graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering from General Motors Institute, now Kettering University, and earned a degree in Biblical Studies from Houghton College.
He served as pastor at Tyrone Alliance Church, Tyrone, Pa., People's Alliance Church, New Castle, and Bakerstown Alliance Church, Gibsonia, and was founder and former executive director of The Lighthouse Foundation.
Vern devoted his life to others and simply saw people how Jesus saw them.
BORCHERT — Friends of Vernon C. Borchert, who died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2017, will be received Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
