COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The People for Peace study group of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., meets at noon today at the Forest Heights clubhouse to set the fall curriculum.

EAST BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN

East Butler Presbyterian Church, Ninth and Randolph streets, will have a new members class at 7 p.m. Sunday.

There will not be a monthly bluegrass/gospel jam Sunday due to the Labor Day weekend. The jam is postponed until 7 p.m. Sept. 9.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., will celebrate Communion Sunday.

During the week, AA meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and Weight Watchers has added a new session at 10 a.m. Wednesday along with existing sessions at 6 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. Sept. 6 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 8.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have the Shop @ 216 open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Sunday schedule is an 8:30 a.m. prayer service followed by a 9:15 a.m. breakfast, 9:45 a.m. Sunday school classes and Jim Foster, missionary to South Africa, speaking at the 11 a.m. service.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., has choir practice resuming at 7:30 p.m. today.

. The church will participate Friday with a craft table for children at the Downtown Butler Foodie Friday and concert series.

Because of the Labor Day holiday, the church office will be closed Monday, and there will be no community dinner.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., has the evangelism and stewardship committee meeting in the ladies’ lounge Sunday following 10 a.m. worship service.

Ladies’ Night Out is at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood Drive.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will have Communion during Sunday worship. Elder Karl Kennedy will deliver the message.

The church office will be closed Monday for Labor Day.

The Board of Deacons will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Willing Workers will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

INTERSECTION CHURCH

Intersection Church, 120 Walker Ave., will have Communion at the 10 a.m. Sept. 9 worship service.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, has Communion at the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service.

All donations for the Glade Run Food Bank will be collected at both services Sunday.

The church office will be closed on Monday due to the holiday.

MUP-My School Preschool starts Tuesday. The church also will welcome new Field Ed student Zach Bailey Tuesday.

MERIDIAN PRESBYTERIAN

Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., resumes the regular worship schedule Sunday with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m. Communion will be served at the service.

Registration for the All-Church Retreat planned Sept. 28-30 is due.

Recipes are being collected for a new cookbook.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, resumes choir practice Wednesday. New members are welcome.

The Sept. 9 open house will include a mortgage-burning party, pig roast, volleyball, a mission trip presentation and handbells.

Donated prizes for the open house should be placed on the table in the conference room.

GROW, the midweek intergenerational fellowship and study program begins Sept. 26.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Orchard Hill Butler County worships at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, welcomes retired Pastor Karl Schoch to lead the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service Sunday. A potluck luncheon will follow to honor Schoch and his wife, Frieda.

The September Cause of the Month is the Victim Outreach Intervention Center (VOICe).

Sign-up is available for the catered luncheon scheduled Sept. 16 as we honor Pastor Brown and the 50th anniversary of his ordination.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN
