The Nautical Nature pontoon boat at Moraine State Park operates cruises on Lake Arthur at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays from McDanel’s Launch on the North Shore. Call 724- 368-9185. The cruises end with the Oct. 27 Halloween cruise.

Moraine State Park will host an owl prowl at 7:30 p.m. Friday, meeting beside Bear Run Launch on the South Shore. A program on “Venomous Snakes of PA” is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at pavilion 7 at McDanel’s Launch on the North Shore. Call 724-368-8811.

McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County has the gristmill open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Sunday. Interpretive tours are offered at 1 and 2 p.m. and by appointment. Admission, parking and tours are free. A volunteer work day is planned for 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 8. Call 724-368-8811 to register. An owl prowl is planned for 7 p.m. Sept. 22 from the Kildoo Pavilion.
