BHS cardio gets new director, 2 new doctors
The cardiology department at Butler Health System has a new medical director, two new doctors and a new executive director of cardiovascular services.
Dr. Richard Begg was recently added to the staff at BHS Cardiology as the medical director of cardiology.
Begg earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont and his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
He completed his internal medicine residency at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh and his cardiology fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Begg is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, vascular and endovascular medicine and internal medicine.
He is seeing patients at the practice’s offices at 127 Crossroads Campus in Butler and at 647 N. Broad St. Ext., Suite 202, in Grove City.
BHS Cardiology also added Dr. J. Jeffrey Rich, who will see patients at the Crossroads Campus and at 300 Northpointe Circle, Suite 104, Seven Fields.
Rich earned his undergraduate degree from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington Township and his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
He completed his internal medicine residency at UPMC Shadyside Hospital and his fellowship at the Pittsburgh Heart Institute.
Rich is certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Angel R. Flores earned his medical degree from Pedro Henriquez Urena National University in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
He completed his internal medicine residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center, New York City, and fellowship in cardiology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Roxbury, Mass.
Flores is certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.
He will see patients at the Crossroads Campus.

Also joining BHS Cardiovascular is Steven Brown, who was named executive director of cardiovascular services.
Brown will be directly involved in all service lines, including cardiology, surgery, vascular interventions and electrophysiology.
He is a graduate of Waynesburg University and has 30 years experience as a health care executive in the region.
