1:39 p.m. Aug. 3 — Jacob T. McCall, 21, of Butler allegedly threatened his cousin with a kitchen knife on the 200 block of West Cunningham Street.

Police said the victim ran into the station to report being chased by another man with a large knife, according to court documents. An officer spotted the suspect running between houses and the Salvation Army on West Cunningham Street.

Butler County sheriff’s deputies assisted police in searching for the defendant. Police eventually found McCall, but he did not have any weapons. Later, however, officers found a knife matching the victim’s description in a garbage can near the Salvation Army building.

McCall is charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

6 a.m. Aug. 3 — John S. McIntyre, 27, allegedly strangled and assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at their home on the 700 block of West Penn Street.

The woman told police that McIntyre choked and punched her several times. During the alleged assault, according to court documents, he “wrapped his arms around her neck, and strangled her again for approximately 30 seconds.”

Police said the victim recounted that she was unable to breathe and became “light headed.” Her injuries, documented noted, were consistent with her account.

District Judge William Fullerton issued an arrest warrant for McIntyre on a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of simple assault.

4:26 a.m. Aug. 3 — Christopher A. Waggett, 40, was arrested on charges he assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute at his home on North Sixth Avenue.

Police said the woman accused Waggett of pushing her into a wall while she was seated on a chair. He also allegedly struck her in the face. The woman, according to court documents, had minor injuries to the left side of her face and the lip, which was swollen.

Waggett was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

12:40 a.m. Aug. 3 — John D. Daniels, 29, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his sister during a domestic dispute at his apartment on the 400 block of West Cunningham Street.

The victim told police, according to court documents, that she and Daniels got into an argument, and he pushed her and struck her on the right side of the face.

Police described her injuries as a facial swelling and a scratch mark on her right arm.

Daniels was gone when officers got to the apartment but they later found him. He was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

4:42 p.m. July 31 — Christopher D. Reinhart, 39, of Butler was allegedly caught with suspected crack cocaine after police arrested him on a pair of warrants on West New Caste Street near Broad Street.

Police said they knew Reinhart was wanted on the arrest warrants, previously filed by their departments, when they spotted Reinhart walking on the street. He was searched, court documents said, and found with a small baggie of suspected crack that was inside a cigarette pack.

He is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Reinhart was subsequently arraigned on unrelated charges in the warrants. Court records showed those charges are false identification to law enforcement authorities and possession of a controlled substance stemming from a July 19 incident, and possession of drug paraphernalia for a May 16 incident.

He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.
