CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The prayer shawl group of Christ Community United Methodist Church 205 N. Duffy Road, meets at 1 p.m. today.

Holy Communion will be observed at both Sunday services.

The St Vincent DePaul Food Cupboard work team meets at 8 a.m. Monday. All volunteers welcome.

The quilters group meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The youth group will redo the youth room Aug. 17 and 18. Volunteers able to provide a dinner for both youth redo days should contact Cherie Loomis.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., celebrates the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service. The Rev. Robert Mathias will officiate. Elder Brian Graff will preach.

The fish banks for the summer mission project are due Sunday.

EAST BUTLER PRESBYTERIAN

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., has coffee and doughnuts at 10 a.m. Sunday followed by a worship service led by Elder Ron McKissick.

During the week, the AA meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and Weight Watchers meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. Aug. 9 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 11.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., has an 8:30 a.m. Sunday prayer service followed by 9:15 a.m. breakfast, 9:45 a.m. Sunday school and an 11 a.m. worship service.

The prayer meeting in the park will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Alameda Masonic shelter.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., has Ladies’ Night Out at 5:30 p.m. today at Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood Drive.

Men of Grace are invited to attend the BALM Gathering of Men breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township.

Volunteers from Grace @ Calvary will serve the community dinner at First English Lutheran Church Monday. Volunteers should be there at 4 p.m. to help set up and serve the 5 p.m. dinner.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Elder Jim Ihlenfeld will deliver the message at the Sunday worship of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. Fellowship hour will follow.

The Hill Quilters meet at 9 a.m. Friday in the fellowship hall.

The handbell choir rehearses at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

INTERSECTION CHURCH

Intersection Church, 120 Walker Ave., will have Youth Sunday with the youths participating in various aspects of the Sunday morning worship service.

A women’s Bible study meets at 10 a.m. Thursdays.

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will have retired pastor the Rev. Paul Wieman as guest preacher Sunday.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Orchard Hill Butler County worships at Penn Christian Academy, 199 W. Airport Road, Penn Township,

The church will have a core group gathering at 9:30 a.m. Sunday to pray for the Butler community. This will be followed by a 10:30 a.m. worship service.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., welcomes the Rev. Clark Sawyer to the pulpit during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The August First Sunday Mission Offering goes to Catholic Charities in Butler. To make a donation, use one of the “First Sunday Mission” envelopes in the pew racks or put “Catholic Charities” on the memo line of a check.

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, will have lay minister Bill Oehlschlager III lead the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service.

ST. JOHN’S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City, celebrates Holy Communion Sunday.

Volunteers for the corn roast and pulled pork dinner should be at the church by 3 p.m. Friday.

The consistory will meet after the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will share Holy Communion at the 8:15 and 10 a.m. Sunday worship services.

The outreach ministry team will lead the 2 p.m. Sunday worship at Elmcroft Assisted Living, 100 Bella Drive, Saxonburg.

The sewing ministry meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday in the Fellowship Hall.
