Remington Ryde: Bluegrass by the bale

Bluegrass band Remington Ryde features Billy Lee Cox on banjo, lead vocalist Ryan Frankhouser on guitar and fiddler Warren Blair.

Bluegrass musicians Remington Ryde will perform at 7 and 9 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 7) in the Auditorium Pavilion. Admission is free with a general admission ticket.

Harrisburg-based Remington Ryde was a 2017 nominee for the bluegrass entertainers of the year award presented by the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America.

Remington Ryde has been performing for bluegrass music lovers since 2006. The band has given more than 100 shows each year throughout the United States and Canada.

The group recently released its sixth studio album, “LIVE at the Bluegrass Ramble.” featuring a one-hour live show from Bill Knowlton’s 41st Bluegrass Ramble Picnic at Dyer Memorial Park in Little York, N.Y.

The group is led by Ryan Frankhouser on guitar and lead vocals, with Billy Lee Cox on banjo and bass vocals, Richard Egolf on bass and tenor vocals, and Warren Blair on fiddle and baritone vocals.

The band’s sound and old time flair can be attributed to the Bluegrass-rich area from which they hail and borrow their name.
