Cranberry police make drug arrest
CRANBERRY TWP — A Kittanning man was arrested Thursday for allegedly attempting to sell six pounds of marijuana in a township parking lot.
Cody L. Adams, 28, was charged after an investigation by state Bureau of Narcotics officers.
According to the criminal complaint, Cranberry Township police were asked to assist with surveillance of an expected drug transaction on Cranberry Springs Drive. Officers allegedly observed a car pull into the parking lot of the address and next to another vehicle. Adams and another passenger allegedly exited the vehicle and met with an unidentified man. They popped the trunk and opened a cooler which, “obviously contained marijuana,” the complaint states.
All three men were detained, and officers allegedly found six pounds of marijuana inside the cooler in vacuum-sealed bags.
Adams was arraigned Thursday night and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for August.
