Renovation under way at BC3 branch
Jim Levundusky of Greensburg operates a mini-excavator while digging a trench for an acid waste and neutralizing tank inside what will be a natural science laboratory at Butler County Community College’s Cranberry Township campus on July 17. Work on the new science lab is part of a $1.2-million renovation that started in late June. The main lobby, bathrooms and faculty offices are also being renovated and a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system is being installed. New computers, lab equipment, furniture, carpet, paint and ceilings are included in the project. The south side of the 22,500-square foot building, which opened in January 1990, will be completed by Aug. 27, the first day of classes for the 2018 fall semester. Work will then begin on the north half of the facility and be finished by Oct. 31.
