B’NAI ABRAHAM

B’nai Abraham, 519 N. Main St., is taking names for the New Year’s Greeting, the Book of Remembrance for its Yom Kippur services and donations for its Yizkor service for the flower fund. All forms and payments are due Aug. 27.

Christ Community UNITED METHODIST

The book club of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, meets at 10 a.m. today.

The preschool meeting will be noon Tuesday at Panera Bread, 330 New Castle Road.

The church council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The newsletter will be mailed Wednesday.

Quilters meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Donations are still being accepted for the Back To School Bash, 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 22 at Rotary Park.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church, 1104 Pittsburgh Pike Road, will have a picnic and water baptism from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Moraine State Park, South Shore, Crestline Picnic Area. Register to take a large side dish and if you wish to be water baptized. Go to Clcbutler.org/events and click on ‘Water Baptism’.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The AA Group will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Weight Watchers at 6 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. July 26, and 8:30 a.m. July 28 at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., has 9:45 a.m. Sunday school.

Missionary Doug Combs speaks at the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service.

There will also be a free 6:30 p.m. Sunday piano concert at the church with First Baptist Church of Evans City’s worship pastor intern Ryan Krell. A love offering will be received.

First Baptist is among the congregations participating in Junior High Camp (seventh- to ninth-graders) beginning Monday and continuing through July 28 at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Worth Township. For more information, call 724-287-7241.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Members and friends of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. today to have a property work day for inside and outside chores.

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, is open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. No proof of income is required. Each family may fill one large bag. Clothing can be donated while the clothing bank is open or during office hours 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Pastor Melissa Stoller, assistant to the bishop, will be at the church from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday, hosting a question-and-answer session.

There will be a stewardship meeting in the library Sunday following the worship service. All are invited.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Pat Hovis and Beth Ackelson provide the music at the 10 a.m. Sunday service.

The church is collecting diapers and wipes Sunday for the pregnancy center in Butler.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Lay pastor Tom McMeekin will deliver the message during Sunday worship at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. Fellowship hour will follow.

Jenny Martin will provide special music for the service.

Intersection

The Men’s breakfast of Intersection Church, 120 Walker Ave., meets at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Mac’s Route 8 Cafe, 16 Pittsburgh Road.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will host a guest speaker Alissa Cooper from Heart for Uganda, at the 8:30 and 10 a.m. services Sunday. A meeting for buildings and grounds will follow at 11:15 a.m. in the Board Room.

The building project team meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The Material Girls meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Board Room.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, has fliers in the lobby for the Victim Outreach Intervention Center (VOICe), which is seeking donations for its work with victims of domestic violence.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., welcomes the Rev. Fred Young to the pulpit during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship.

ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 420 Beaver St., Mars, will have only a 9 a.m. Sunday worship service.

There will be no Sunday school for the summer.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, has its 10 a.m. Sunday worship outdoors on the patio. Volunteers are needed at 9:45 a.m. to set up.

The Sewing Ministry meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday in the Fellowship Hall.

The monthly community quiet time and prayer will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Vacation Bible school begins at 6 p.m. Monday and continues through July 26.
