Meridian's Grigoletti gets win
In a bases-loaded, no-out jam in a one-run game in the seventh inning and needing to pitch out of it, Josh Grigoletti did just that.
The Meridian hurler got a 4-2 ground out and then two pop-ups to get out of the jam to eke out a 5-4 win over West Sunbury to survive in the loser’s bracket of the Butler County Area Baseball League playoffs Tuesday night.
Grigoletti gave up nine hits in the complete-game victory, but needed only 97 pitches.
Ryan Lynn was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and Remy Pardo had a single and a sacrifice fly RBI for Meridian, which will move on to play Center Township, a 10-0 winner over East Butler, Thursday in Center Township at 6 p.m.
