Sox rally falls short vs. Paints

Nearly come back from 9-0 deficit, lose 9-7

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Butler BlueSox have been playing catch-up for much of this season. Thursday night, it almost paid off.

Trailing host Chillicothe 9-0 after three innings, the Sox scored in five straight frames, only to fall to the Paints 9-7 in Prospect League baseball play.

Butler’s rally began when Evan Webb smacked a two-run home run in the top of the fifth.

Also homering for the Sox were Colton Carney and Kellen Sarver.

Knoch High product Dominick Bucko was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

Butler starting pitcher Brady Walker and reliever Nick Mancuso were both knocked around by the Paints. Both pitched two innings, with Walker allowing six runs on eight hits. Mancuso was charged with three runs on five hits.

Butler (10-22) plays at Chillicothe (19-13) Friday.
