[naviga:h3]Miracle League hosting all-stars[/naviga:h3]
CRANBERRY TWP — The Miracle League of Southwestern PA will host its first All-Star baseball game July 28 at Graham Park.
The Miracle League is a national organization focused on building ballfields accommodating to children and adults with special needs.
Teams will consist of players from these miracle leagues: Cranberry Township, Murrysville, Blair County, Indiana, South Hills and Moon Township in Pennsylvania, Wheeling and Morgantown in West Virginia, Manasota in Florida.
Exhibition games will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day with the All-Star Game at 6:30 p.m. Country star Sydney Hutchko will perform after the game.
[naviga:h3]SRU athletes join Spring Top 10[/naviga:h3]
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University baseball pitcher Chris Anastas and track and field standout JJ Ollio are among the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s Spring Top 10 this year.
The PSAC honors five male and five female athletes after each sports season, based on academic standing and athletic achievement.
Anastas is a junior carrying a 4.0 grade point average. He was 5-1 with a 3.91 earned run average, 51 strikeouts in 50.2 innings pitched this year.
Ollio is a senior carrying a 3.71 GPA. He broke SRU’s discus record this year and was All-PSAC in the shot put and discus.
