Errors sink Sox vs. Sliders
Butler fell behind 5-0 early and never recovered in an 8-2 setback to Springfield in Prospect League baseball action Monday night in Springfield, Ill.
The BlueSox committed three errors that led to four unearned runs in the loss that dropped their record to 4-12, eight games back of first-place West Virginia in the East Division.
Ryan Haff went 2-for-4 to for Butler in his second game with the club. He’s batting .444. Chris Law also tripled for the BlueSox, who managed just six hits.
Chad Coles got the loss. He gave up five runs — only one earned — in five innings of work.
Springfield blasted two home runs in the game off the bats of Tyler Tesmond and Adam Lopez.
The homer by Lopez was his fourth of the season for the Sliders (11-8).
Butler will be in action against Tuesday at Springfield. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
