The back roads of Butler County will be filled with more than 200 antique cars for the Model T Ford Club International 62nd annual Tour on July 15 to 20.

The tour, hosted by Western PA Model T Ford Club, will feature Model Ts from 91 to 110 years old, from across the United States and from New Zealand, Scotland, Canada and Brazil.

“The Model T International Tour brings together people from all over the world. This event allows Model T owners to enjoy their cars the way they were meant to be enjoyed instead of leaving them in storage all year,” said Simon Neubert, spokesman for Western PA Model T Ford Club.

The tour’s theme is “History, Hills and Automobiles.” Tour participants will follow a detailed itinerary leading them to various historic landmarks, museums and towns in Western Pennsylvania.

The tour will kick off with a free car show at 1 p.m. July 15 at Roebling Park in Saxonburg. All of the vehicles will on display.

Model Ts also will be parked at the Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry Township, and spectators are invited to stop by to view the vehicles.

These antique cars are traveling at old-fashioned speeds along the roads, and it’s important that drivers remain patient, organizers said.

“We are excited to have the Model T International Tour in our area and for visitors to see and experience all the wonderful things to do in Butler County,” said Jack Cohen, president of Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau.

“We’re excited to showcase these antique cars, and just ask that other drivers be courteous while we’re on the road,” Neubert said.

The Model T Ford Club was founded in 1952 in Chicago.
