Cranberry woman faces DUI charges
CRANBERRY TWP — A township woman is facing charges after allegedly wrecking her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
According to court documents, Tyler Jordan Duffy, 23, is facing two misdemeanor DUI charges, one for highest rate of alcohol, and summary traffic offenses for an incident that took place May 2.
The complaint states officers responded to a report of an accident on Bucks Road at 1:33 a.m. on that date to find a single vehicle crash. The vehicle appeared to have struck a mailbox before hitting a telephone pole, shearing off the pole and causing another to fall. The complaint states when the poles fell, some damage was caused to nearby homes.
Duffy allegedly identified herself as the driver of the vehicle, telling officers she, “‘looked down at her phone for a sec’ and the next thing she knew was she hit a telephone pole,” the complaint states. She said her friend was also in the vehicle at the time, though no injuries were reported.
