A Butler man was placed into the county's Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program Tuesday, after being charged with taking an obscene photograph of a sleeping woman without her knowledge, which was later shared with others.

Garett L. Goslaw, 21, was placed into the program with 12 months' probation by Judge William Shaffer on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge.

Goslaw was initially charged with two counts of misdemeanor invasion of privacy, which were both withdrawn and the disorderly conduct charge added as part of the agreement.

First Assistant District Attorney Patricia McLean told the court that the other two charges were withdrawn because “after a review, the facts do not meet these charges.”

If all costs and fines are paid, and no violations of probation occur, the program can be terminated early at nine months, according to the agreement.

Goslaw was charged alongside Emily R. Eichenlaub, 19, following an investigation into incidents that occurred between July 13 and Nov. 24 in the 3000 block of Beck Road, Summit Township, where state police say Goslaw took an obscene photograph of a woman while she slept, and Eichenlaub distributed it without the knowledge or consent of the victim.

Police said Goslaw admitted to taking the picture “by accident,” but had saved the photograph, which was found by Eichenlaub who disseminated the photograph “in a fit of jealousy,” according to the criminal complaint.

Eichenlaub was charged with two misdemeanor counts of distributing obscene material and currently awaits further court proceedings.
