Evidence seized in Sunday's drug bust in Butler by the state attorney general's office.

More than 500 stamp bags of suspected heroin and nearly $5,000 in currency were part of the haul state narcotics officers netted Sunday in Butler, authorities said.

Also seized were suspected crack cocaine and marijuana, digital scales, several cell phones and additional drug contraband.

Two Philadelphia men — 26-year-old Damar M. Holmes and 20-year-old Wayne J. Davis — were arrested in the drug bust stemming from an investigation by the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics.

Investigators said they used a police informant May 3 to set up a drug deal with Holmes. The deal, made by cell phone, was for Holmes to sell two “bricks” of heroin to the informant, according to court documents, in exchange for $450.

The informant on June 3 again contacted Holmes to arrange to buy two more bricks of heroin, according to investigators. The informant drove to the Comfort Inn off Route 8 south in Butler Township.

Holmes and Davis exited the hotel carrying luggage and entered the informant's car. State narcotics officers stopped the defendants in the vehicle at South Main and Wayne streets in Butler.

Both defendants have been charged and are being held in Butler County Prison on $250,000 bail each.
