Dump truck hits car in Penn Twp.

PENN TWP — No one was injured Monday when a dump truck backed up on Brownsdale Road and hit a car.

Both vehicles were traveling east when the truck stopped and backed up, striking a car at 11:38 a.m., police said.

The truck, owned by Sidelines Tree Service of Bridgeville, a subcontractor trimming tress for PennDOT, was backing up so the driver and passenger could put some signs when the accident occurred,” said Cpl. Jack Ripper, of the township police department.

“The truck backed up and hit the car,” Ripper said.

The truck had minor damage, but the car had front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

The driver of the car was Zachary Palikaras, 17, of Butler. The truck driver was Humberto Silva Rodiguez and the passenger was Hugo Mejia Morales. Both are from Mexico. Their ages were not available.
