BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have special music Sunday from Gwen Atkinson.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, observes Holy Communion at both Sunday services.

To support the Heifer project to help end world hunger and poverty, the church will accept contributions in honor or in memory of the men in our lives in observance of Father’s Day. The suggested contribution is $5 per name.

Forms are available in the office or the bulletins, and the deadline is June 13.

The church is still accepting items for the June 16 rummage sale.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church, 1104 Pittsburgh Pike Road, will have rummage and bake sale donation drop-offs from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the church. For items not accepted, see clcbutler.org/rummage. All proceeds benefit the ministry of Community Life Church.

Monday is the registration deadline for the ManUP Men’s Conference.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., celebrates the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper during the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

FAITH UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main Ext., celebrates the second Sunday after Pentecost with Communion.

Sunday school teachers will be recognized and recent graduates celebrated with punch and cookies provided by the deacons after the worship service.

Sunday school will cease for the summer and resume Sept. 16.

FIRST BAPTIST

The First Baptist School of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., has senior graduation at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Shop @ 216 will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The church will have an 8:30 a.m. Sunday prayer service, 9:15 a.m. breakfast, 9:45 a.m. Sunday school and an 11 a.m. worship service.

The church will participate in a workweek beginning Monday and continuing through June 1 at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Worth Township.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., begins its new worship schedule Sunday with one worship service at 10 a.m. A strawberry social with light lunch will follow the service.

The Good Samaritan Flower Pot will be at the back of the sanctuary for donations to help the needy in our area.

The Butler Area Lutheran Ministries Men’s Group will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, at 8 a.m. for breakfast. All men are invited.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will show a faith-based video in the sanctuary at 9 a.m. Sunday and then have a discussion. All are welcome to join.

All June graduates will be honored at Sunday’s service.

The youths attending the National Youth Gathering have a meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

Volunteers from Grace @ Calvary will serve the community dinner at First English Monday. Volunteers should be there at 4 p.m. to help set up and serve dinner, which starts at 5 p.m.

Butler Relay For Life meets at 6 p.m. Monday at Grace @ Calvary in the social hall.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Beth Ackelson and Ruth Ferko provide the music at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

GraceWay honors all graduates in the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper at both Sunday worship services.

The Session will meet at 10:10 a.m. Sunday.

The Hill Quilters will meet at 9 a.m. Friday.

Memorial bells will rehearse at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The food request for June is peanut butter or jelly.

JEFFERSON CENTER

Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church, 390 Frazier Road, Saxonburg, celebrates Communion at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will celebrate Communion at both Sunday worship services.

Service times for the summer have changed to 8:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday.

The church will acknowledge graduates at the 10 a.m. Sunday service.

The women’s Bible study will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The A-team will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Material Girls will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

MERIDIAN PRESBYTERIAN

Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., hosts a summer block party from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday on the church grounds. It is open to everyone.

Worship services will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday for the summer months.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will meet after the worship service June 10 to plan a mortgage-burning party.

ORCHARD HILL BUTLER COUNTY

Orchard Hill Butler County worships at Penn Christian Academy, 199 W. Airport Road, Penn Township.

Orchard Hill’s Core Group Gathering is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Penn Christian Academy. This opportunity to pray for the campus and the Butler community will be followed by the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, will have a steering committee meeting following the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The church will have family night at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Ponderosa Steakhouse, 128 Clearview Circle.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, celebrates Holy Communion during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The monthly potluck breakfast will be at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The BALM Men’s group will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church.

The Cause of the Month for June is Lutheran Senior Life, part of the Lutheran Service Society.

ST. JOHN’S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

The Consistory at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City, will have its monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Setup for the Friday spaghetti dinner will be at 10 a.m., and the kitchen prep begins at 3 p.m. Friday. Have all salad items and desserts at the church by 3 p.m. Friday.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, invites all men to a 7:45 a.m. Saturday Men’s Breakfast at King’s Restaurant, 400 Buffalo Plaza, Sarver.

Confirmation will be celebrated at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship service with Holy Communion.
