BUTLER TWP — The Musicians’ Concert Band will perform five shows again this summer at Butler Intermediate High School.
Jeff Kroner is the director and conductor.
The concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:
June 14, featuring Jim Colonna
June 28, featuring “Kroner’s Favorites”
July 12, featuring the SRU music faculty
July 26, featuring “Showtime — Movies and Broadway”
Aug. 2, featuring the Gibbons Big Band with swing music.

The Butler County Symphony Association is hosting a lunchtime concert series on Fridays this summer.
Concerts will begin Friday and run through Sept. 28 in the symphony office, 259 S. Main St. Admission is free.
Music begins at noon and features local artists along with some BCSO musicians. The concerts also will be broadcast in Diamond Park.
Performing this Friday will be String Machine.

BUTLER TWP — Sing Hosanna! will stage “Willy Wonka Jr.” on June 20 and 21 at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.
The show is based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl.

BRADY TWP — The Moraine, McConnells Mill, Jennings Commission (3MJC) will host a program on June 20 on “How to Hike and NOT Die — Fundamentals for the Novice Hiker.”
The program will deal with the basics of staying safe in the outdoors as presented by Colleen Chamberlain, AHGA certified hiking guide and Hiking Merit Badge Counselor with the Boy Scouts of America.
The group meets at Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528.
[naviga:h3]Aviary starts summer activities[/naviga:h3]
PITTSBURGH — Summer activities at the National Aviary include a Butterfly Garden and the outdoor free-flight bird show Sky Deck now open to visitors.
The Butterfly Garden is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and is included with general admission.
Sky Deck shows go on at noon and 2:30 p.m. daily, weather permitting, and costs $5 in addition to general admission.
The National Aviary is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $16 for adults and $14 for senior citizens age 60 and older and for children 2 to 12.

PITTSBURGH — The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh will present Steve Hackman’s “The Times They Are A-Changing,” a song cycle based on the music of Bob Dylan, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the outdoor Dollar Bank Main Stage at Point State Park. Admission is free.
At 110 years in operation, the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh is the city’s oldest performing arts organization. The 100-plus members include residents of Butler County.

GROVE CITY — The 28th annual Grove City Strawberry Days will be June 8, 9 and 10 at Grove City Memorial Park.
Hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. June 8 and 9 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 10.
Events will include entertainment, crafts, children’s games and food.
Music will include Junction PA, The McCabes, and The Stonehorse Band on June 8; The Basement Band, Tree Beard Brown, and The Epics on June 9; and Crosswind and Catro on June 10.
Admission and parking are free.
