All About Golf all about practice

All About Golf has eight all-weather hitting bays on its driving range. The driving range has lights and remains open after dark.
Facility filled with plenty of features for veteran and beginning golfers

BUTLER TWP — All About Golf could be called All About Practice.

It's one and the same.

Wade Orloski took over the former Mount Chestnut golf course in August of 2013 and has transformed it into the premier golf practice facility in the region.

“Our goal was to make this facility a place where new golfers could learn the game and veteran golfers could hone their skills,” Orloski said. “I feel like we've accomplished that.”

And they're not done yet.

All About Golf will be opening a new practice putting green in a couple of weeks. It already has a practice chipping area to go with eight heated indoor bays at its driving range, an indoor putting area, large pro shop and its nine-hole golf course.

The putting green will be approximately 20 feet by 40 feet.

“That golf course isn't a par-3 course,” Orloski said. “It's versatile enough that you can use every club in your bag.

“We've installed three new tee boxes out there to make a few holes a little more challenging, if golfers choose to go that route.”

The driving range has lights, making that part of the facility available until 10 p.m. on weekdays, 11 p.m. on weekends, during the summer.

The range is also one of the flattest driving ranges in the area.

“A lot of golfers have told me they love how flat our range is,” Orloski said. “They can get a true gauge on how accurate and far their drives are.”

The practice chipping area includes fairway rough and a sand trap.

Heated bays enable golfers to utilize the range during the cold, rainy days and nights as well.

“People can practice their game anytime here, regardless of the weather conditions,” Orloski said.

Ken Macadaeg owns the pro shop at All About Golf. Virtually any item having to do with the sport can be found there.

“We carry all of the top brand names,” Macadaeg said. “We do custom fitting and re-gripping with golf clubs as well. That service can often be done on the same day or the very next day.”

New and used golf clubs, along with golf bags, shirts, tees, gloves, umbrellas, etc., are available in the shop.

“Our prices are competitive, too,” Macadaeg emphasized.

All About Golf is also taking part in The First Tee program, which is based out of Pittsburgh. This nationwide youth golf program is designed to teach kids how to play the game as well as learn life lessons through golf.

The nine core values The First Tee program looks to instill in youths are honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, perseverance, confidence, responsibility, courtesy and judgment.

All About Golf hosts The First Tee program on Wednesday nights. There were eight kids involved in the program at the facility last year and there are 16 this year.

“It's a growing thing and we plan to get more involved in that,” Orloski said of The First Tee program. Those interested in learning more about the program may contact Orloski at www.AllAboutGolfPA.com.All About Golf offers three different bucket sizes for the driving range. They are priced at $6, $9 and $12. Senior citizens age 60-over can walk the 9-hole course for $5 on weekdays. Regular prices to walk the course are $7 on weekdays, $9 on weekends and holidays. Golf carts are also available.“We're becoming more and more popular, especially with the lit driving range and indoor bays,” Orloski said. “People will travel a long way to practice their golf game.”Learn the game, work on the game, enjoy the game.“That's what we're all about,” Orloski said.
