Alex Scalone plated the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning as Cranberry withstood a Meridian rally for a 7-6 Butler County Area Baseball League win Thursday.

Meridian wiped out a 6-2 deficit in the top of the seventh with four unearned runs to force extra innings.

Jesse Clary was the winning pitcher in relief. He also had two singles. Justin Dattoli singled for Cranberry and threw out four base-runners trying to steal.

Ryan Lynn had two hits for Meridian and pitched six strong innings in relief. Bayden Davenport had a bases-loaded double to fuel the seventh-inning rally.
