Parish changes

Many priests at churches in Butler County will change assignments this October as part of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh's reorganization plan:

The Rev. Nicholas Argentieri of St. Andrew Parish in Center Township, who is also the vicar at Butler Memorial Hospital, will be the new chaplain at UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

The Rev. Harry Bielewicz, currently the pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, St. Paul Parish and St. Peter Parish, all in Butler, will become administrator of parishes in the new Avella/Burgettstown/Fort Cherry Area/West Allegheny grouping.

The Rev. Robert Cedolia will move from pastor at Holy Sepulcher Parish in Middlesex Township to administrator of parishes in the Clairton/Jefferson Hills/Pleasant Hills/West Mifflin grouping.

The Rev. Andrew Fischer will move from parochial vicar of St. Ferdinand Parish in Cranberry Township to the same position within the Upper Allegheny Valley grouping.

The Rev. Mark Pattock, the parochial vicar at St. Joseph in Cabot and St. Mary in Herman will be reassigned outside the diocese.

The Rev. Aleksandr Schrenk, parochial vicar pro tem of St. Michael the Archangel, St. Paul and St. Peter parishes, all of Butler, will become parochial vicar of the Carnegie/Greentree/Scott Township grouping.

The Rev. Anthony Sciarappa, parochial vicar of St. Michael the Archangel, St. Paul and St. Peter parishes, all of Butler, will become parochial vicar of parishes in the New Castle Area grouping.

The Rev. Robert Seeman, administrator of St. Peter Parish in Slippery Rock and campus ministry at Slippery Rock University, will become senior parochial vicar of parishes in the Finleyville/Jefferson Hills/Peters Township grouping.

Some priests will lead the larger parishes they already administer.

The Rev. Charles Bober, pastor of St. Kilian Parish in Cranberry Township and part-time chaplain at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School, will become administrator of Holy Sepulcher, Glade Mills and St. Kilian parishes in the Adams/Glade Mills grouping.

The Rev. John Gallagher, pastor of St. Ferdinand Parish in Cranberry Township, will become administrator of St. Ferdinand, St. Gregory and Holy Redeemer parishes in the Cranberry/Ellwood City/Zelienople grouping.

The Rev. Matthew McClain, pastor of St. John Parish in Coylesville and St. Wendelin Parish near East Butler will become administrator of Mater Dolorosa Parish in Chicora and other parishes in the Carbon Center/Chicora/North Oakland grouping.

The Rev. James Young, administrator of St. Gregory Parish in Zelienople and Evans City, will become parish chaplain of St. Ferdinand, St. Gregory and Holy Redeemer parishes in the Cranberry/Ellwood City/Zelienople grouping.

The Rev. Mark Thomas, senior parochial vicar at Holy Redeemer Parish in Ellwood City, will become senior parochial vicar of St. Ferdinand, St. Gregory and Holy Redeemer parishes in the Cranberry/Ellwood City/Zelienople grouping.
