Wednesday — Thomas P. Romspert, 26, of Butler was arrested on charges he harassed and assaulted his ex-girlfriend.The alleged victim on Monday reported that Romspert was texting and calling both her phone and her mother's phone, despite being told to stop, according to court documents.The victim told police that about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday she went to check on a friend who lives in that same apartment building as the defendant, documents said, and he started chasing her around the building in the 400 block of West New Castle Street.He is accused of punching her in the face and “smashing” her right index finger in a door way. The woman suffered minor injuries.Romspert was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.
Wednesday — Dean R. Krelko, 56, of Lyndora was charged with taking $80 from a purse in February at a neighbor's apartment in the 600 block of Hansen Avenue.Police allege Krelko took the money belonging to the victim, his former girlfriend, on the night of Feb. 12. He is charged with theft.
Monday — Sydney J. Trufley, 22, of Summit Township was charged with being more than twice the state's legal limit for alcohol stemming from a traffic stop earlier this month in Center Township. Police said they stopped her about 2:05 a.m. March 14 for swerving in her lane on Route 8 near Unionville Road.She failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test that showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.176 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.Trufley is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.2:08 a.m. April 21 — Devin J. Rodgers, 21, of Butler was arrested on Davis Road near Euclid Road in Clay Township. Police said he failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.099 percent.Rodgers is charged with DUI.April 16 — Tyler A. Hays, 26, of Fenelton was charged with drunken driving in connection with a one-vehicle wreck last month in Clearfield Township. He crashed his car into a tree along South Clearfield Road south of McLafferty Road about 6:50 p.m. March 23.Callers reported that the driver was running from or fleeing the scene, according to court documents. Troopers subsequently found Hays, who matched the description of the suspect.He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test after failing field sobriety testing. Toxicology results showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.133 percent.In addition to DUI, he is charged with failing to immediately notify police of an accident, failing to stop and give information or render aid after an accident, failing to keep right, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.
6:18 p.m. Tuesday — A 23-year-old Indiana, Pa., man was caught with suspected marijuana and other drug contraband following a traffic stop on Route 28 north at Exit 17 in Buffalo Township.Charges are pending and police did not identify the man.2:53 p.m. Tuesday — Nicholas D. Stright, 18, of Worthington was hurt when he lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into a creek along Route 128 in North Buffalo Township. He was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with apparent minor injuries.Police said Stright was passing another vehicle when he swerved and spun out. The truck crossed over both lanes and went off the road, overturning onto its passenger side and traveling down an embankment before ending in the creek.Police said the teenager was not wearing a seat belt.1 p.m. Monday — An archery block target was stolen from the back yard of a home on Ridgeview Road in South Buffalo Township.
