The Slippery Rock Huddle, in collaboration with SRU Young Progressives, placed these empty shoes next to Robert M. Smith Student Center, in a display that represents the victims of gun violence on college and university campuses. The display came in the wake of an active shooter emergency drill SRU held April 19. The groups say they hope to raise awareness of the issue and prompt conversations about how campus communities have been affected by mass shootings, and how to prevent violence in the future.
