A day before the scheduled start of his trial, an Ellwood City man pleaded no contest in Butler County Court to disorderly conduct, after being accused of stealing from his former employer in September 2015.

Jeffrey L. Geiger, 45, on Monday pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor count before Judge William Shaffer.

He was initially charged by Cranberry Township police with felony theft by failure to make required disposition of funds and receiving stolen property after incidents between Sept. 22 and Dec. 5, 2015.

The plea agreement calls for a sentence of court costs, $500 restitution and probation. If the restitution is paid before his May 25 sentence, no probation will be ordered.

Police said Geiger was found in possession of $2,200 in cash that he collected from a customer in December 2015 and never turned over to his employer, Junk King, according to court records.
